…this time, it’s a macro image I took few days ago while searching for some new shooting spots. Believe it or not, it was shot with my “preparations” camera, HP Photosmart M307. Yeah, I also can’t believe it still works! ๐

Creating Panoramas in Photoshop
This is a simple tutorial on how to create panoramas in Photoshop (in my case version 7, but applies to any Photoshop from version 6 up).

Photographic shock!
I got quite a bit shocked moment ago, when while browsing masters-of-photography.com I found the following photo, taken by Czech photographer Josef Koudelka in 1968, on Wenceslav Square in Prague:
The shock came from the fact that in February 2005 I took a similar photo, only at the opposite end of the Wenceslav Square(!):
Did anything like this ever happen to you?!
Maybe some places simply have some kind of atmosphere that just calls for specific kind of a photography? I guess so, because at that moment it was simply natural for me to take that pic, I didn’t even think about it.
Film is not dead, no. 2
Continuing my “saga” of shooting on film, I can’t help but wonder, when will the digital photography reach the level that the “on-film photography” achieved?.
Film is not dead!
My father-in-law borrowed me his good ol’ Minolta SR-T 303b from 1976… Fully manual (both exposure and focus), wonderful SLR camera. Fortunately for me, it has exposure meter, otherwise I’d be totally lost with the exposure settings.
Here’s the camera, with a wonderful 80-205mm f4.5 macro lens:
It took me like 15 pix to take to get it a bit into hand, not to forget to check something, but the feeling of it is just amazing. The camera is pretty robust (users call the camera “tank” – it sure feels like it can survive anything; how many of todays DSLR’s you think will work still in 30 years?), but fits in hand real nice, and the feeling when shooting is just lovely.
Before the “slide show”, one complaint – how is it possible that just few years ago you could get film for camera literally anywhere, and these days, all you can get is ISO 100 (rarely 200) color film, and no way you can get your hands on black-and-white film?!
We’ve got a kitten!
Her name is Che-Chee, she was born on 12th February 2008, and she’s with us since this monday, 24th March. Surprisingly, she got used to us very fast, no crying or anything, already the first evening she was checking around what all belongs to her.
Many more photos to follow, don’t worry, for now just a small “appetizer”:
